We tested the Veritas indelible pencil to see how it performed compared to an ordinary pencil for the purposes of our treasure hunt HERE. We found no appreciable change in color after wetting the mark. This doesn't mean that these pencils don't function as intended by the manufacturer. However it DOES mean that these won't be useful in creating a treasure hunt. Note the Veritas insert has a warning about the fragility of the pencil lead. This warning applies to all indelible pencils that we've had experience with.
