------------------------Many years ago James was involved in volunteer work and had spent 22 months in Bolivia. It didn’t take long for him to discover that shaving cream was not available at all. Bolivia only had one type of product and that was something that you’d have to squeeze out of a tube like toothpaste. That turned out to be dramatically inferior to shaving cream.
Frustrated, James, for some reason remembered some of the old 1930's cartoons that poked fun at the hot towel shave that was more common in that time period. The cartoon depicted wrapping the hot wet towel around the customer’s face as the customer shot out of the seat while screaming in pain. While thinking of that it occurred to James to try running the warm water over his face periodically while showering and then at the end, after his beard had softened, do the shave while still in the shower. That worked like a charm. Problem solved!
James promptly found a waterproof glass mirror. With that he could properly trim his sideburns and then the rest of his shave could be done by “feel”.
James was excited to be back in the United States after having spent close to two years in Bolivia. So upon returning the United States one of the first things he did was to buy can of shaving cream. Incredibly, James found that using shaving cream was actually inferior to shaving in he shower. So he gave his can of shaving cream to his brother and never looked back!
