The 2 Best Blender Brands that Must be Considered for Your Kitchen
The blenders that we reviewed and recommended here have been proven to have minimal issues
We did this research in order to find and recommend the best blender for making salsa in connection with our flagship salsa recipe found here. Clearly, the best blender for salsa will certainly be best for smoothies and a host of other blending activities.
We rejected some highly-rated blenders because they didn’t meet our criteria:
- When reviewing ratings that users give their products it’s important that there is a large number of reviews to ensure that here is a predictable amount of both positive and negative experiences and opinions to give a realistic assessment of the product’s overall utility. So we excluded all brands that had less than 100 reviews.
- When we look at the distribution of 1 to 5 star ratings we find that in the review of a trusted product that the distribution of the amount of rating negativity tapers on a generally consistent and predictable manner. Ideally this means that with a great brand the 5 star ratings would be the vast majority of reviews with 4 star reviews being considerably less common. Then 3 star reviews would be lesser still and hopefully the 1 star reviews would usually be the least number of reviews across a trusted product offerings.
- We are partial to our 2014 high powered Blendtec [which can blend out strawberry seeds in a smoothie]. We are also partial our 1988 Osterizer [with the glass jar which you can see HERE on our salsa recipe page]. Both of these are still in regular use today. With that said we are not including either brand in our recommendations here. This is not to diss these brands but we are focusing our attention on the models that are relevant today. We believe that it’s fair to say that one cannot realistically expect most modern blenders to get the type of life-span that we at Salsa Stop are getting from our 1988 Osterizer.
Here's What We Found on the Two Blenders that We Do Recommend:
- Out of the blenders that had well over 100 reviews the Ninja AMZ493BRN Compact Kitchen System and the Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series had the smallest number of complaints as a percent of any of the other brands. Additionally Vitamix had several other models that came close to the Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series in having a low number of complaints. We were unable to find any other brand with a lot of sales that would come close to these two brands.
- While the few complaints we saw about the Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series parallelled similar complaints we saw in other brands that centered around functionality flaws we found that these complaints were dramatically less as a percent as compared to other brands. Should something go awry keep in mind is that Viamix has a 7-year warranty.
- With the Ninja AMZ493BRN Compact Kitchen System we found that, like Viamix, there were very few complaints as a percent and some of those complaints mostly centered on cracks forming in he jar itself. Apparenly some have reason to believe that the jars are not dishwasher safe.
- We found no lower price blenders that met our standards. However the price is the real draw here. So if you don't want something fancy then look for the best blender with glass jar. They look great and are a little bit easier to clean than the high impact resistent plastic that's necessary on the more powerful blenders. When you look at the reviews pay particular attention to the 4 star and the 1 star ratings.
Cleaning a Blender Jar Outside of the Dishwasher:
The best way to clean a blender jar outside the dishwasher is to make a "soap smoothie" immediately after use. Rinse out the remainder of the food you blended. Then you fill he jar ¼ to ½ full of warn water, squirt in some dishwashing liquid and run the blander as though you were making a smoothie. Rinse well afterwards.
